Support Ukrainian Horticulture by Improving Bussiness

Negotiations with the EU on the extension of duty-free and quota-free trade will be conducted in the first quarter of 2024. It is widely understood that these negotiations will be more challenging than the previous two rounds, but there is confidence at a level of 70-80% that they will take place.

This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, during the XV International Conference “Managing Agribusiness in Ukraine.” He added that negotiations regarding EU accession will be even more challenging.

“At present, 40% of everything Ukraine needs to agree on concerns agriculture and food products. Some things are overly complicated, such as how much land needs to be converted to ecological land by 2030. But all of this can certainly be done,” noted Mykola Solskyi.

Regarding the blocking of Ukrainian exports by certain countries, the minister stated, “Relations with neighbors will occasionally be as they are now, and we need to take it normally. This is an indication that we are already, to some extent, in the EU. For EU countries, this is a usual story of discussions among themselves. Yes, they negotiate on everything, not only with us but also among themselves. It’s a sign of democracy, and it will always be like that.”
