Romanian truckers and farmers plan to block the Halmi-Dyakove checkpoint on the border with Ukraine today, January 18.
This was reported by the Zakarpattia Customs on Facebook.
“The protesters plan to block the movement of trucks, so the movement of freight transport may be temporarily restricted or blocked. At the same time, the blockade will not affect the movement of passenger cars and buses,” the department noted.
They also reminded that Romanian protesters have already blocked two checkpoints with Ukraine: “Siret-Porubne” and “Vikovu-de-Sus-Krasnoilsk.”
Customs officers promise to provide information about the operation of the checkpoint and possible strike terms later.
