Support Ukrainian Horticulture by Improving Bussiness

In 2023, agrochemical soil analysis was the most in-demand service ordered by farmers.

This was revealed by the head of the laboratory at the Center for Laboratory Research and Development “MicroBio Lab,” chemist-analyst Nadiia Hryadchenko, during the online conference “InterAGROLab: the path to efficient agriculture.”

“51% of companies turned to the center for this service. As a result, it was found that 63% of Ukraine’s soils have low fertility due to increased acidity, low phosphorus, sulfur, and micronutrient content,” noted Nadiia Hryadchenko.

In addition, experts conducted extensive research on the quality of fertilizers. Thus, one-third of fertilizer samples used by Ukrainian farmers are counterfeit (they contain cheap insoluble compounds instead of expensive soluble ones).

Seed and seed material analyses showed that one-third of the examined samples are infected with root diseases, various rots, alternaria, and bacterial diseases.
